The funds have come out of the recent federal budget's NSW recovery plan.
The narrow bridge has had temporary barrier fencing on one side and the federal government expected construction to start by mid 2021.
The government said the benefits of the bridge upgrade include improvements for freight and load limits of the bridges, which should in turn support local producers by providing better freight access.
This project will replace the existing timber bridge on Mount Darragh Rd with a new two-lane concrete structure.
