Meanwhile, the women's side suffered a loss at the hands of the Eagles at the Eden Cricket Ground over the weekend.
The Whalers were relegated to third place on the table after suffering their first loss of the season when the Eagles kicked clear to a margin of 14-9-93 to 2-2-14.
Eden found its two-goal haul in the opening quarter and, while the club were trailing Tathra, were still contenders for the result.
Kamilla Grubesic tagged one of the six pointers, with the second to Kate Mitchell and were among the best on ground for Eden.
Unfortunately, Tathra appeared too strong on the day, running away with the game, allowing Eden just a further two behinds over the remaining three quarters.
This weekend, the Whalers head to Merimbula for contests with the Diggers in both the women's and reserve grade draws.
First bounce in ladies at 11.50am.
