The women's clash was particularly tense in the dying stages of play when the Breakers levelled the scores at 31-31.
The clock was whittling away when Eden found a behind to lead by a solitary point and then just seconds before the siren the Breakers were in with a chance after taking a mark, but the initial kick was called back and a subsequent shot at goal fell short.
A stoic Eden defence then rallied around the ball to clear it out and hold on for a 5-2-32 to 4-7-31 win.
It was a similarly close affair in the reserve grade clash where Eden led the Breakers by just three points coming out of three-quarter time, but a goal in the final period gave them just enough edge to win 5-6-36 to 4-5-29.
Eden's goal scoring efforts were shared with a versatile attack providing the edge on the day, while Spencer Timms and Scott Munday were named best on ground for the host club.
Out of the women's camp Tammy Grubesic was named best on ground after a strong performance pushing play from the midfield to Eden's attacking forwards and was among the goal kickers.
Tyler Crowe, Jemma Pollock and Kamilla Grubesic were also among the strong performers to kick goals, with Kamilla bagging herself a double on the day.
Meanwhile, in other matches, the Pambula Panthers secured a narrow result over the Merimbula Diggers in their Anzac weekend local derby at the Pambula Sporting Complex on Saturday.
Following the Last Post and a minute's silence, Michele Pettigrove performed the Australian Anthem in front of an enthusiastic crowd to open the senior clash.
From there the Diggers established a tremendous early result and held on to a decent lead at half-time before the Panthers battled back into play and eventually overcame their visitors 7-6-48 to 7-2-44.
Merimbula had fired out of the blocks to take an 18 point lead in the opening quarter where the hosts had been kept to scoring just a solitary behind.
Finley Cooke and Brendon Gordon were among the best on ground for Merimbula and were pivotal in ensuring forward movement for the Diggers out of the hotly contested midfield.
The early forward presence helped the Diggers score three goals to none in the opening period, with Dylan Jordan leading the charge with three majors to his name for the day.
Out of the Pambula camp Kyle Tucker was the sole kicker to put two on the board, while later in play the Panthers found kicking options from a range of players across the attacking zone.
The Panthers began winding back the deficit in the second quarter before leap-frogging in the third and holding on for the win.
