Martin, along with David Ross MacDonald (drums), Sam Martin (bass) and Nick Keeling (banjo/keyboard), will be playing this Sunday, May 2, at the Tathra Hotel, from 3-6pm.
Martin grew up in the remote desert coastal town of Ceduna South Australia.
As the third child in a busy farming family, the record player was broken by the time she joined the family.
Her early music exposure was through singalongs on long road trips (it's a long way to anywhere from Ceduna) and a few dusty Slim Dusty cassettes that kicked around the dash of the Landcruiser ute.
At the age of 13, her eldest sister Jodi Martin established the family band Spineffex with Robyn recruited on bass guitar. The band toured pubs, clubs and country music festivals with their dad, Spin, on sound (in spite of severe industrial deafness) and fearless mother, Colleen, in the brave role of tour manager.
Since then, Robyn has completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Music and is often seen playing across the South Coast and beyond.
