Club spokesperson Stan Soroka said the grant will be used to fund a concept plan to be produced by World Trail.
"The concept plan is the next step in the process and will include the trails design incorporating the location of the trailhead, which is the major trail access point, and the location of parking, toilets and shuttle access," he said.
Mr Soroka said the successful FRRR grant application and the opportunity to commission a concept plan was an exciting development, coming off the back of World Trail's recent destination audit exercise.
"It's definitely an exciting step forward for the club's ambitions for Eden. Having the concept plan in place positions us well for advancing our project," he said.
"The findings of the destination audit will be released before the end of the month.
"We've reviewed a first draft of the audit report and we're pleased with what we've seen, that's for sure."
Mr Soroka said the FRRR application was co-ordinated by Eric Wolske through his role as the Eden Community Access Centre's community development officer.
"We're also very grateful to Georgie Staley and the Narooma Mountain Bike Club for their advice and support along the way with this one."
Meanwhile, the club is awaiting the results of its major Bushfire Local Economic Fund grant application which, if successful, will fund construction of Stage 1 of the trail network consisting of the trailhead and the first 60km of trails.
"It's an exciting time and things are feeling quite positive. We're grateful for all the support we're receiving, particularly from Forestry NSW who are very supportive of our concept and vision and are continuing to collaborate closely with us."
Mr Soroka said he and another committee member, Tim Edwards, had recently travelled to Talbingo to participate in an AusCycling workshop, Demystifying MTB & Enabling Communities.
"It was a great opportunity to gain skills and knowledge about mountain biking and the things that are needed to build and sustain a community mountain biking culture."
