The Bega Multicultural Centre will welcome 10-piece Ethiopian-jazz, hip hop and funk band Black Jesus Experience to Mimosa Winery, Murrah, NSW for an all-inclusive evening of live music, delicious food, boutique drinks and autumn revelry.
While they have played the world famous Glastonbury Festival in England, this is the first time the band will tour the Far South Coast region and play on Djiringanj Country.
Cayce Hill, manager of Bega Multicultural Centre, said this was the first gig ever to be hosted by Mimosa Winery.
"They have been super supportive. It's a world class venue and a world class band," Ms Hill said.
"About five years go I went to Longstocking Brewery in Pambula and ran in to some friends from Melbourne who are in the band.
"They told me how much they loved coming to the South Coast, since that time I have always had it in the back of my mind to get them up here to play.
"This region is primed for this kind of event and I look forward to many more like it."
The event will also feature the musical stylings of local MC Prodikal-1, otherwise known as Warren Foster Junior.
The event is a charitable fundraiser for the Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast, sponsored by the Bega Multicultural Centre.
"The idea was to have an event which would help put money back into the community and the Social Justice Advocates do great work," Ms Hill said.
The event is also being held in conjunction with a second gig at Bega Valley Shire Council's Harmony Day celebration, scheduled to take place the day before on Saturday, March 20 in Littleton Gardens, Bega.
The cost to attend the event at Mimosa Winery is $130 per person and includes food and drink.
There is round-trip transportation available from Bega with stops in Kalaru, Tathra and Tanja, at a cost of $20 return.
Tickets must be pre-purchased online at events.humanitix.com/black-jesus-experience.
