The owners of the Royal Willows, Jeanette and Kel Stolzenhein also own the Pambula FoodWorks supermarket and have previously talked about wanting to move the supermarket to the space occupied by the pub. The move would provide a much larger space for the supermarket and put it adjacent to the existing bottle shop, also owned by the Stolzenheins.
Without doubt there is need for a larger supermarket in the busy Pambula village, but many people will be concerned that the facade of the pub will be destroyed, taking with it the traditional look that has become a hallmark of the village.
As yet no plans have been submitted to council.
