I have worked at Eden Marine High School for 14 years.
What do you like most about your job?
I like that I get to share my skills as a musician with a new group of students each year. Sharing experiences I have had with year seven students and seeing them progress through the years to the point of graduation makes me immensely proud of what I do in Eden. I also enjoy the out of classroom experiences such as assisting with local festivals and community events.
What do you like least about your job?
Teaching can be a high pressure environment with a great list of expectations that need to be delivered. It often feels like the to-do list is never ending and sometimes that gets me down.
If you won $1miillion what would you do first?
I have no idea, probably put it in the bank and the spend some time thinking about who needs it most.
What is one thing you cannot live without?
A project, I always love having something to tinker on that pulls me out of my day and gives me a fresh perspective. My current project is building a mobile stage and recording studio out of a 1950s Carapark caravan.
What are three words that describe Eden best?
Stunning, natural and old world.
What do you think Eden needs the most as a community?
Community space and interaction. I think investing in our connections to each other is the most valuable thing we can achieve. I really enjoy working in Eden and look forward to connecting more with other folks who are in town. Eden is a great place that has so much to offer.
