Heritage management and interpretation consultant Angela George approached Eden Realty to inquire about use of the space, so passers-by would be able to access and appreciate some maritime history on the main street of town.

Jody White, Eden Killer Whale Museum collection manager said this set of banners was offered to the museum following the conclusion of the Australian National Maritime Museum's national travelling exhibition program.

"There were a few sets of these offered to partners who hosted the exhibition and who may be able to use them again from time to time," Ms White said.

"We are pleased to be able to loan them to local organisations, and it's a great opportunity for those who may have missed the display previously."

Eden Realty licensee Glenn Brunette agreed it was a good idea to display the panels and facilitated permission from the owner of the property.

"It's a point of interest, it's good to utilise the space for the benefit of pedestrians and we are very happy to support the museum," Mr Brunette said.

The panels can be viewed from the street at 152 Imlay Street, Eden.
