The project culminated after years of work by the Eden Fitness Trail Group (EFTG), which consists of four members, Cherie Mercado, Fiona Campbell, Tatiana Pajo and Joy Robin, along with enormous support from local organisations, Bega Valley Shire Council and the broader community.

In partnership with BVSC, EFTG secured $120,000 of funding through the NSW government's My Community Project grant process in September 2019.

After Ossie Cruse's commeced the ceremony with a Welcome to Country, Ms Mercado said, "When volunteers, local organisations and community groups work together we can achieve great things... here is the proof... lets all cheer for that!"

Mayor Russell Fitzpatrick was invited to cut the ribbon after saying a few words,but he requested that the EFTG do the honours and Tatiana Pajo was elected to do so.

The main exercise hub is located in Imlay Memorial Park on Calle Calle Street and comprises a stretch station, leg press, pull-ups and leg raises, elliptical trainer, chest press, shoulder mobility wheel, aerobic cycle, body pulls and push-ups, parallel bars and a balance beam.

This hub is linked by an existing pathway, an earlier Eden Service and Social Club Inc project, to three individual stations located along Aslings Beach Road: station one is fitted with a dexterity builder and body twist, station two has two step-up platforms at different heights and station three incorporates an aerobic cycle and pull-downs.

The hub and single stations have water views, another design element to increase the benefits of managing stress and anxiety.
