The annual Pambula Club to Pub race from the Pambula Surf Life Saving Club to the Lakeview Hotel took place on Saturday despite the threat of bad weather.

There had been plans for the race to take place from the Broadwater jetty around to the Pambula Surf Life Saving Club but in the end it was decided to go with the original plan.
Surf skis and, a lone SUP paddler started off their journey through the surf followed by various surf boat crews.
Newcomers to the race, in their OC6 (six person ocean canoe) tried several times to get through the surf to the relatively calmer water, but had difficulties.
The OC6 team had paddled from Broadwater Jetty to the beach prior to the race. Unfortunately getting back out again eluded them despite several attempts where the OC6 became swamped as they pushed off through the surf.
By comparison the entry into Fishpen across the Merimbula bar was relatively tame.
