The board offered the position to Clair Mudaliar after a rigorous recruitment process.
Clair has a strong connection with Eden (her grandparents were the late Kevvy and Jesse Warren) and many locals will recognise her as the face behind the successful business Peisley's and in her previous partnership at E2B Phone Repairs.
In the past Clair has been a key member of the Eden Chamber of Commerce committee where her skills and experience in event management came to the fore at the Business Awards evening - a glittering success.
"While we didn't receive a huge number of applications, several were outstanding. We were happy that we had such a quality group to choose from," Eden Tourism staff liaison officer Lana Wills said.
This is an exciting and demanding time for Eden Tourism.
The industry has been rocked by fires, floods and COVID-19, but the future looks bright with businesses reporting continued inquiries from people anxious to escape lockdown as soon as possible.
While the EVIC itself is currently not as busy because of COVID, the staff and volunteers are preparing for their move to the new Welcome Centre.
Clair is keen to work with her team to identify all the opportunities the new location will offer.
"This place will be the envy of every other visitor centre, located in one of the most popular places in the region - and in a spectacular building as well. Who wouldn't want to work here?" Clair said.

The board, staff and volunteers have met with Rankin Builders and the Port Authority project team regarding Welcome Centre floor plans and layouts so that the move can be as streamlined as possible.
A number of factors will influence when the move can occur, but work is already being carried out around display units and staff/volunteer amenities. Preparation has also begun on new signage to ensure visitors coming from any direction will be able to find the centre.
"Our centre volunteers are the backbone of the centre," Lana said.
"Without their dedication and enthusiasm, we'd be lost.
"We're always keen to welcome new volunteers - lately we've had a few newcomers who have found working with the centre a great way to learn about the local area and meet new people."
