Trevor Fleet, 35, wearing prison greens, faced Bega Local Court on Tuesday, August 24, via audio visual link from Silverwater Correctional Complex's Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre.
He has been charged with reckless wounding after allegedly stabbing his stepfather in the stomach during an argument earlier this month.
Police allege Fleet and his 64-year-old stepfather got into a physical altercation before Fleet stabbed him in the stomach with a kitchen knife on August 3.
The court heard a decision was still to be made by public prosecutors on whether or not to prosecute Fleet in the NSW District Court.
Fleet's lawyer Jennifer Chalker told the court her client was a partial paraplegic, and had been without his medication and wheelchair since his arrest on the night of the alleged stabbing.
Magistrate Doug Dick told Fleet he would renew a request to Justice Health for medication and a wheelchair.
When Magistrate Dick accidentally told Fleet his next court date would be July 15 rather than September 15, Fleet told the court he wished he could "turn back time" to before the alleged stabbing.
Fleet will face Bega Local Court on Tuesday, September 15.
