A former Far South Coast school counsellor is facing four charges of physically assaulting girls at a high school.

"In August 2019, officers from South Coast Police District commenced an investigation following reports two girls - aged between 13 and 15 - had been assaulted by a school counsellor," a police spokersperson said.
"Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 55-year-old man at Narooma Police Station just before 11am on Thursday, August 13.
"He was charged with four counts of common assault.
"Police will allege in court that the man physically assaulted the girls during counselling sessions between 2016 and 2018.
"The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Narooma Local Court on Thursday 17 September 2020."
