A NSW Police spokesperson told ACM that 650 police personnel have been deployed across the 55 border checkpoints for the operation and that fixed wing aerial patrols were also being conducted.
The spokesperson said "traffic is moving easily" through the crossing at the Princes Hwy and no arrests have been made or public health order infringements have been handed out at that particular checkpoint.
Overall, they said, police were pleased with the behaviour of the people at Princes Hwy checkpoint.
Russell Fitzpatrick, manager at Bobbin Transport in Pambula, said his drivers had been operating as usual since acquiring exemption permits via Service NSW and had not experienced any issues travelling interstate and back.
There is currently no requirement for truck drivers carrying freight to self-isolate for 14 days, as long as they have an exemption permit to cross the border.
