The two will clash in an NRL trial in Bega as a response to the devastating bushfire season that impacted much of the Far South Coast.
Officials from both clubs said players and staff would embed themselves around the communities to pay tribute to local fire-fighters, while also visiting schools and engaging with fans.
The community were invited to meet and mingle with Panthers players as the team enjoys dinner at the Lakeview Hotel on Wednesday from 6.45pm.
The Eels will be holding a free public barbecue at the Cobargo Hotel on Thursday from 7pm.
The Eels have invited the Cobargo and surrounding communities to their free barbecue with the current crop of players taking part as well as some legends of the club including Mick Cronin and Bob O'Reilly.
There will be a chance to mingle with the players as well as some giveaways on the night.
As a Gerringong publican himself, the Eels are hopeful to get Cronin behind the bar to pour a few beers for the locals.
"Everyone is welcome - the aim is to get the community together, enjoy each other's company and continue the healing process," Cobargo Hotel publican Dave Allen said.

Officials from both clubs said Thursday would be a hectic schedule with a number of school visits and community engagements.
Parramatta officials said the club would split into a number of groups for school visits, while players will also visit a number of farms in the Cobargo area to aid with fencing, milking or other property tasks.
The visits will include rallying behind former Eels player Tim Salway.
Meanwhile, the Panthers will be visiting Pambula Public School on Thursday afternoon ahead of speaking with local footy clubs about the importance of mental health
Players from both clubs will pay tribute to Far South Coast fire-fighters at special Heroes meet Heroes dinners across four functions around the Bega Valley.
There will be a Captain's Run at the Bega Recreation Ground on Friday from 9am with an informal meet-and-greet and signing sessions from about 10am.
The Eels will hit the ground about an hour later with an informal meet-and-greet and signing to run between 11am and noon.
Everyone is welcome at the post training run sessions.
