NSW Young Labor vice-president and leader of Young Labor Left Cian Galea announced the group will be hosting a caucus meeting and barbecue on Saturday, February 22, and meeting with local community members.
Young Labor Left is a group of young people with members across NSW dedicated to fighting for progressive change inside and outside of the NSW Labor Party.
"Young Labor Left is glad to have the opportunity to meet with local community members in Eden, and to stand in solidarity with those on the Sapphire Coast impacted by the recent devastating bushfires," Mr Galea said.
"As the recent bushfires demonstrate, the escalating climate crisis has had devastating and disproportionate effects on regional communities in NSW. Young Labor Left believes we urgently need to transition away from coal mining and provide a jobs guarantee for people in regional and rural communities.
"Young Labor Left will agitate for a swift and well-resourced rebuilding effort on the Sapphire Coast and in all areas affected by the bushfires."
The barbecue is on at George Bass Park, Calle Calle St, at 3pm.
