The Eden Sport and Game Fishing Club's annual tournament will go ahead this weekend.

Officials said they were delighted to see the tournament move forward with a focus this year on supporting the local economy after "the devastating fires we have all experienced."

"The Eden-based tournament will see boats from NSW, Victoria and ACT fish for three days," a spokesman said. Competition runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Registrations and briefing will be held Thursday from 6pm at the Eden Fishermen's Recreation Club auditorium.

The tournament is a team event - with all anglers on the boat focused on the tag and release of marlin, shark, tuna and other game fish.. All anglers must be a member of a Game Fishing Club and a member of Game Fishing Australia.

There are great prizes up for grabs and the club sincerely thank all their sponsors.
