On Tuesday afteroon there was a steady trail of water bombing activitiy on the fires just south west of the Nethercote community.
The fires are on the northern edge of the Border Fire and understood to be in the vicinity of Copelands Knob Road and the Sugarload Fire Trail.
Fire activity, which became visible on Monday when the smoke cleared, had increased at several spots and a bulldozer has been brought in along with a water truck earlier in the day.
Fortunately with the north easterly winds no homes are believed to be in immediate danger.
