Task Force Commander Captain Leif Maxfield aboard the Adelaide said operations remained ongoing around the Bega Valley, while the ship was also assessing northern areas like Batemans Bay.
"The weekend saw HMAS Adelaide depart Twofold Bay, but we have remained off the Far South Coast, using one of the ship's small boats to assess Batemans Bay for potential areas where we could provide support if required in the future," Captain Maxfield said.
"We also continued helicopter operations by acting as a stopover point for aircraft operating in the areas, including an MH-60R Seahawk flying a survey over a large portion of the road between Eden and Mallacoota."
With evacuations completed by both sea and air from the small Victorian community, attention has now turned to clean up operations with the HMAS Choules deploying heavy plant and equipment just days ago to aid in the clearing of the road.
Captain Maxfield said the HMAS Adelaide was also able to provide logistics support to Navy Clearance Divers and Army engineers on Sunday.
"[They were] assisting in the recovery of a Rural Fire Service helicopter, which ditched into a dam, while refilling with water in Ben Boyd National Park last Thursday," he said.
"I'm pleased to say the aircraft was recovered."
Captain Maxfield said the HMAS Adelaide and her assets of crew and cargo remained postured to support the area as needed.
An Army Task Force Commander would also be assessing the area on Tuesday, scheduled to arrive in Bega by helicopter in the afternoon.
