A prize pool of more than $1000 has the potential to make this year's Tathra Amateur Fishing Club annual Christmas/New Year competition an attractive event for all fishing enthusiasts.

The competition commences on Saturday, December 28, and concludes with final weigh-in at 1pm on Sunday, December 29, followed by a barbecue and presentations.
Prior registration is essential and will be available from 5.30am on both days at the Kianinny Bay boat ramp.
Open section entry is $10 per fisher. Juniors (15 years or under) are free. They may also compete in the Open section by paying the full entry fee, however each fish they catch is eligible for entry in one section only, which must be nominated at weigh-in and only one fish of each species may be entered.
Eligible species are morwong, snapper, tuna, bream, salmon, tailor, luderick, gurnard, leather jacket, whiting, trevally, gummy shark, and tiger, sand and dusky flathead.
The club's weigh-in maximum length restriction of 60 centimeters for dusky flathead will apply along with all applicable NSW Fisheries regulations.
Boat fishing entries are restricted to launching from Kianinny Bay, Bega River, Wallagoot Lake and Nelsons River. The geographic fishing area is unrestricted.
