This week's Breakfast at Tiffany's fundraiser event demonstrated there's a lot of life yet in newspapers.
Australian Community Media sales representative Hanna Marshall strode the catwalk at the event in a dress made entirely from Merimbula News Weekly and Eden Magnet newspapers.
The dress was designed ("over a bottle of wine") and created by Hanna's mother Janice Johnson, who formed the panels from multi-layered pages from the papers run through a second-hand sewing machine.
She also painstakingly created around 500 roses, which were attached to the dress to give it a dazzling amount of colour.
The "upcycled" creation also used cotton and velcro sourced from the local op shop in keeping with the Breakfast at Tiffany's recycled and reused theme.
We wonder if the dress also had a tag with washing instructions and a warning not to get too close to an open flame!
The newspaper dress was a hit at the function and caught the eye of the judges, with Hanna awarded joint winner of the Recycled Fashion category alongside Kathleen Brewster.

Kathleen had made an incredible dress from silver coloured coffee bean bags, crocheted the edges and then sewed them together to make a slinky cocktail dress.
If you're keen to see the newspaper dress up close, it is currently at Black Daisy Trading, Pambula, as part of its Christmas window display.
