Throughout the month of October, renowned Latin American artists Maria Pena, Laura Barraza and mask makers Fiesta of the Fearless will be running a series of creative and unique workshops.
Whether you are a beginner, dabbler or master, the art studio will offer you the unique chance to delve into magical realism portraiture, fiery fiestas through Latin American mask making and connection to the land through colourful fabric collage.
Workshop coordinator at Jigamy Art Studio Patricia Pena said the studio is dedicated to creating spaces where the community can connect with arts, crafts and reconciliation
"We invite artists to come and work with us in a series of workshops that are related in many ways to the connection with land and culture," Ms Pena said.
"The workshops will be open for anyone living in the area and willing to participate."
Ms Pena said the cost of each of the 'not for profit 'workshops is kept at minimum covering only the materials and the expenses of each of the visiting artists.
"In exchange, artists will offer a voluntary art session with the Aboriginal community from this area," she said.
Workshops include: Magic Realism Portraits, Saturday, October 5; Mask Making, October 12-20; Tracing Animals To Connect With Land, October 19.
