The opening round of the NRLW competition saw plenty of debutants on display and the defending premiers out of Brisbane were able to hold their undefeated streak since the maiden competition last year.
The middle ladies from Brisbane got the nod from coach Kelvin Wright.
"Although they haven't played NRLW, Amber is obviously a Kiwi Ferns front-rower, Millie played Origin. So they've both played in big games. I thought they set the tone at the start," Wright said.
Boyle said it was a cracking start to her time in the competition.
"It was awesome to get off with a win, especially being a short season," she said post-game. "It's such an experience and I'm loving being part of the Broncos."
Meanwhile, Dragons coach Daniel Lacey didn't pull any punches in his assessment of the match, conceding the Red V "lacked that killer instinct to strike" he told NRL.com.
"Sometimes when you don't want to fail you lose a bit of confidence. It's not the ideal [result] to come away with but we get the chance to travel over to New Zealand and spend that week together, work on a bit of our combinations," Lacey said.
Ahead of Sunday's clash, Dragons captain Kezie Apps said her squad had put in four weeks of extensive training to prepare for round one.
"We have trained really hard over the past 4 weeks and everything is falling into place."
Apps echoed Wright's praise of the Broncos forward saying Boyle was a consummate athlete.
"She is an incredible athlete and no doubt will carve it up."
There is just two more regular rounds in the women's competition and the Dragons captain said it was great to see the new faces emerging and growth in the game.
"I'm really excited to see some fresh new faces in all the teams. Women's rugby league is growing so rapidly and it's so great to see so many girls coming through," Apps said. The Broncos will face off against the Sydney Roosters on Saturday, while the Dragons face the Warriors on Sunday.
