Even as the club faced heart-breaking results that ended its season, players stood arm in arm, offering an embrace or hearty handshake to team-mates, friends and supporters of the club on the sidelines alike.
There is so much more to putting a football club together than just fielding a side on the park and the Tigers have exemplified the community spirit and passion for the game that brings fans to the code.
It was endearing to see players embracing each other after the results - their shared emotion was unifying rather than divisive as can so often happen during finals footy.
No one stormed off, but instead offered a re-affirming pat on the shoulder to everyone in their respective squads and the first graders who had already faced elimination were out in droves, in club colours cheering their club mates on from the sideline.
There might be lessons for the Tigers to learn on the field in the 2020 season, but nearly every club in Group 16 could take a note from the Eden book on how to build a team experience inside their own club.
And for that I praise all the leaders within the Eden camp, it was devastating to see the club miss out in 2018, but the teamwork and loyalty built this year surely means a brighter future.
So to everyone at the Eden Tigers, hold your heads high, show that club pride and make sure everyone hears you roar in 2020.
