Combining all of the cosy ingredients of a 'good night in', a small group of volunteers have put their heads together to envisage a community gathering that's really a good night out.
The weekly event, aptly named 'Soup on Saturday' is set to kick off on in Eden this coming Saturday evening.
Jess O'Donnell who is part of the group said, "Winter can be a lonely and drawn out time for many. We want people to come together and enjoy a hearty mid-winter meal and pass a few hours in company on a Saturday evening."
The movie and the food will be free of charge.
This weekend's film is the Australian classic comedy Young Einstein. The food menu is yet to be confirmed.
"The menu depends on what food is donated. We won't know what we will be serving up until the afternoon of each Saturday," Ms O'Donnell said.
The Eden United Church has donated the use of its hall, Oz Harvest, Coles Eden and other local businesses will be donating food for the cause.
Ms O'Donnell said any fresh food donations will be accepted at CC Bridal in Pambula. She encouraged people to like and follow the group's Facebook page Soup On Satuday for further updates.
Soup on Saturday will be running weekly over the coming six weeks.
Doors open at Eden Uniting Church hall on Saturday 5pm until 9.30pm.
"Everybody is welcome, if you are thinking of coming along please do," Ms O'Donnell said.
