Vendulka grew up in Cooma before moving to Canberra.
Performing at folk festivals from a young age, she got a big break by reaching the top 24 of X Factor in 2012 as a 14-year-old and then returned the following year for a similar result.
Vendulka continued playing intimate gigs around her new home in Canberra as well as blowing audiences away with appearances at the Cobargo Folk Festival.
However, she admits taking a break from music to instead "live day to day", which took her snowboarding in Canada for a couple of years among other things.
Refreshed and re-energised, Vendulka said she now wants to dedicate all her energy into music, to make something more of her considerable talents.
Hence a return to the stage of reality television renowned for making stars.
The "blind auditions" have Boy George, Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian and Kelly Rowland facing the audience in order to hone in on the voices behind them.
Some may think performing for the backs of four internationally renowned musicians, hoping they turn around and become your mentor, is daunting enough.
For Vendulka...well she decided to up the ante, singing the Boy George and Culture Club classic Karma Chameleon, but in her own style.
"Not that there wasn't enough pressure, I was singing his song," she said with a chuckle.
"I flipped it around a bit and played with my guitar.
"I wondered whether he'd recognise it, or whether he'd love or hate it."
The result? Three judges turned and Boy George joined Vendulka on stage to sing it along with her - a promising sign of things to come for the young singer-songwriter.
"I absolutely wanted to be in music as a career since I was tiny," she said.
"This year I am letting go of the concept of having to do it all myself.
"This [The Voice] is a great platform to meet more people, to make the right connections.
"The next round is the knockouts, and mentoring before that which is pretty cool that I get to ask Boy George for advice.
"It's so surreal, I'm still pinching myself.
"I was having a meal in a pub the other night and I could hear singing from the other room.
"I thought, 'oh The Voice is on TV' and I ran into the room...and saw myself on the ad."
Away from The Voice, Vendulka has just this month released a new single, Good Words, available through all leading online services.
