An up coming forum titled the "Underwater and Marine-themed Photographic and Film Festival" will bring together highly regarded marine scientists, photographers, film makers and educators from our local area and from across Australia.

The expert speakers will host a series of presentations to community members in a relatively relaxed and informal setting, while providing marine science, education and awareness to everyone.
A spokesperson for the The Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre said the centre was proud to present the 10th Annual Marine Science Forum for 2019.
"This event promises to be an inspiring and visually stunning experience. We're excited to be bringing together award winning, professional, local and national experts and enthusiasts in their respective fields of marine photography, cinematography, video and remote operated vehicles(ROV's) together under the one roof," they said.
Forum presenters include:
Sheree Marris - aquatic scientist, author, TV presenter and oceans advocate
Richard Wylie - award winning Australian Geographic photographer and lecturer at Monash University
PT Hirschfield - aka Pink Tank Scuba, writer, award winning underwater photographer/videographer
David Rowland and Ian Holmes from undersea ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle), - bringing an underwater classroom to the big screen (as seen in Through the Garden of Eden)
David Rogers - local self-described "...over enthusiastic landscape photographer." David is responsible for 'that' viral image in 2018 of bioluminescence in Tathra, NSW.
Peter Hannan - local professional photographer and ocean conservation advocate and Louise Kelly, local woman from Eden and undersea portrait photographer.
The forum will be held on Saturday, May 25 at Club Sapphire in Merimbula from 9am to 5pm. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.

Following the forum, audience members are invited to relax and chat with speakers at an informal dinner at Wheelers restaurant .
