A sprinkling meteor shower as a backdrop behind Cattle Bay made for another perfect capture for Mr Whiter's sought-after collection.
Mr Whiter usually has a bit of a game plan to shooting his stunning images, however on Saturday evening it seemed his plans had gone array. Cloud was blanketing the sky and there wasn't a star in sight, let alone a meteor shower.
"I'd kind of given up and I went to bed. It wasn't until 5am when I stepped out onto the balcony that I saw a crisp and clear night sky, " Mr Whiter said.
Perhaps many of us would have turned around and gone straight back to bed. But Mr Whiter knew it was a moment not to be missed.
"I had to move fast because I only had an hour before the sun came up. So I grabbed all of my gear and jumped in the car and headed straight for Cattle bay."
It seems nothing is too much of a challenge for the intrepid photographer who said shooting in the dark is all part of the quest for the perfect image.
"It's not always easy - but that's just part of it. Sometimes you have to go to really isolated places. I've found myself in really windy conditions, carrying heavy camera gear, clambering around cliff faces just to get that one shot. How ever I generally do that in daylight," he laughed.
