The six members joined four Forestry Corp staff from Batemans Bay flying out of Canberra earlier this week to join bushfire response crew fighting fires at Wallangarra. It was expected the crew would be on the front for two weeks.
However on Friday at 2.30pm NSW Forestry Corporation forestry protection manager Zej Brilk told the Eden Magnet the fire was currently contained and the highly experienced crew will be returning home via Coffs Harbour and Sydney this coming Sunday, February 24.
"They have worked incredibly hard and have done an outstanding job," Mr Brilk said.
