Club president Adam Donaldson said the juniors were the backbone and future of the club and the Eden Football Club were looking to sign up any interested players.
“There will be two sessions available from 10am until noon both Saturday and Sunday for normal registrations in all ages.” Mr Donaldson said.
“It’s a good chance for people to come down and have a chat; you can get answers to any questions you might have ahead of the season.”
Mr Donaldson said it was good to see some familiar faces returning for 2019, but said the club would also “love to welcome some new faces”.
A new website registration system is set to go live soon, but Mr Donaldson said this would be an easy way to get your registrations in face-to-face.
With offerings for players under 10 right through to the under 16s and then open men’s and women’s comps, your Active Kids vouchers can also be used to discount the signup.
“We’d really just love to get as many along as we can, so head down for the meet and greet.”
The club will begin training proper at the start of March with the competition to run from April 7.
“We’ve had a really fantastic pre-season, so the main focus is on ensuring we’ve got a strong junior base,” Mr Donaldson said.
Some of the club’s existing juniors will be stepping up from the 16s into the men’s and women’s draws with the club confident to put competitive teams on the park.
“In the men’s team we’ve got quite a few new players, we’ve easily got numbers for a team, – we’re just waiting to see wether we could consider building to two teams [Firsts and reserves],” he said.
He said the club would definitely need a few more sign-ups to consider it and said anyone who wanted to play soccer this year was welcome at the family-friendly club.
Meanwhile, the ladies outfit will return in form on the back of two undefeated seasons.
“They’ll be gearing up for another good season with some of the under 16s joining the core group from last year,” Mr Donaldson said.
The Killers look likely to lose star midfielder Talia Westley and possibly a couple extra through school or work commitments.
However, Mr Donaldson said their places would be capably filled by the skillful and speedy juniors stepping up to the team.
The registrations will be held at the Eden Soccer Ground club rooms and all are welcome.
