One could have easily mistaken the location for a trendy inner city laneway.
Underneath the garden’s rambling grape vine guests took in the evening chatting, sipping champagne and cocktails, eating mussels, smoked salmon canapes and other tasty morsels served up on overflowing grazing boards.
The best thing about it? Everything was local.
The collaborative joint venture was a fusion of four Eden businesses – Sprout Eden, A Pinch of Yum, Eden Smokehouse and Peisley’s licensed mobile bar – who joined together giving locals a taste of the best of the region and showcasing what small businesses can achieve when they work together.
Karen Lott said the venture, called New Shoots, went “swimmingly”.
“The feedback has been positive. It was taste of excellence celebrating the best of our region and what we can achieve when we work together.”
Recently launched Peisley’s indulged guests with exquisite cocktails, wines, and beers (all locally sourced) being served out of the side window of a funky vintage caravan.
Since launching her unique mobile bar last October, Clair Mudaliar said she has enjoyed the journey of discovering what the region has to offer.
“I have discovered products I didn’t know existed before like North of Eden Gin. I was thrilled to find a gin that is created right here on the South Coast.
“I love to sell all local when I can. I have Longstocking beer on tap, wines from Breakfast Creek and Rusty Fig and North of Eden Gin,” she said.
Pinch Of Yum co-owner Destiny O’Rourke said she believed combining ingredients that are seasonal and locally sourced allowed for a unique and creative product.
“It also allows us to show off the locally sourced product as much as we can,” she added.
Pinch of Yum combined with Eden Smokehouse to create smoked salmon canapes as well as other delectables that highlighted the flavours of the smokehouse products.
Ms Lott said she hoped they could do it all over again in a few months’ time.
