Pharmacy have been a driving force this year, finishing five points clear of their nearest rival, while Twofold were able to clinch second spot on the ladder on for and against over the Tigers.
After a close match in the final against the Whalers, the Tigers advanced to take on Pharmacy in the A group grand final.
Pharmacy fired to an early eight-goal lead and were able to hang on to the lead for most of the game.
However, the Tigers never let them get too far ahead and a six-goals-to-one final quarter kept it tight with Pharmacy winning 20-19.
In B group, Pambula had advanced straight to the grand final, while the Sweaty Bettys had taken the long road to the big game.
Starting a mish-mash team, the Bettys continued building through the season and were able to clinch the grand final 37-23.
Each week points are awarded by the umpires for those they judge as best-on-court and the winners this season were, Tyler Crowe and Zenda Manton. Congratulations girls!
A big thank-you must go to our umpires, Marcus Arvidson, Sis Neilsen, Deb Richardson, Emma Flanigan, Karen Longford, Jen Jeffrey, Jodie Cronk, Kristen Beattie, Amy Cooper, Sharon Isaac and Genevieve McGuinness. Your contribution to our club is very much appreciated. We would like to encourage more players to come forward and umpire. Janifer has prepared, learn at your own pace umpiring packs and along with a training session to be held early next year, you will be off to a good start.
Thank-you also to the hard working committee of Janifer Hutchinson, Elissa McCabe, Cassandra Chatfield, Michelle Kelly and Genevieve McGuinness for getting the Eden Netball Association back up and running! It was great to have so many teams participate in the Spring competition.
This Thursday we will have a stall at Christmas-on-Imlay so come along and have a go at winning one of the many prizes available in, pick-a-prize. Thank-you to those players who donated goods towards this stall. Tickets for our raffle prize of $1,000 will also be sold at the stall. Prizes will be drawn on the night which includes two minor prizes. Thank-you to everyone who has bought and sold tickets.
The club’s annual meeting will be held at the clubhouse on December 19 at 6pm. Please come along and have some input in to the running of our club even if you don’t want to become a committee member.
