Forestry Corporation of NSW is advising Towamba Valley residents that forest harvesting is scheduled in the Ridges section of Towamba State forest at the end of November this year.

The pine plantation harvest is expected to run annually from October-March for the next three years, subject to weather.
During this period, there will be an increase in log truck movements in the Towamba Valley as a result of the harvest.
Forestry Corporation is consulting with Bega Valley Shire Council and the local community to ensure the operation is well planned with measures in place to ensure road safety in the valley, said Forestry Corporation Harvesting and Roading Coordinator Tim Gillespie-Jones.
“We are working with the community and council to make sure the operation is well-planned and the impact is minimised for Towamba Valley residents,” Mr Gillespie-Jones said.
Forestry Corporation is also working with Bega Valley Shire Council to establish road maintenance arrangements for the affected council roads.
