U3A Sapphire Coast has recently seen its membership grow to over 530 members who are enjoying a wide range of interesting classes on offer.

As well as regular classes run throughout the previous terms, a few new classes were added to Term 4, as well as eight exciting one-off event classes.

One of them was a visit to the Merimbula Marine Rescue on October 22. Members had a chance to visit their base at Spencer Park, see the training and radio rooms and the rescue vessel MB 30, learn about their history and rescues, see how boats are logged in and out of the bay, and gain an understanding of their policies and procedures and the role of the volunteers.

U3A Sapphire Coast, along with sister organisation Bermagui U3A , covers most of the Bega Valley Shire and is a great way to meet other retired people and make new friends in a friendly, non-political, non-sectarian atmosphere.

No educational qualifications are required to join U3A; your ‘school of life’ experience is all that is required. Because everyone is a volunteer, being a member and taking part in our program is extremely affordable.
