There’s nothing more captivating than watching a pod of whales as they tail slap, spyhop and breach the water on their annual migration.

Eden provides the perfect location to catch a glimpse or have a close encounter with these magnificent creatures along with other wildlife.

From November 2-4, 2018 The Eden Whale Festival will celebrate the whale migration in spectacular form at the Eden Whale Festival.

The event will begin on the Friday with the festival launch. Spend the morning exploring with a tour or do some whale watching from the sea or shore.

From 1.30pm the festival opening will take place at the Eden Killer Whale Museum. At 5.30pm come along for the launch of the Wheeler's Exhibition Centre for live music, drinks and to taste delicious local oysters. Complete your Friday night with some live and local music at the festival grounds in Barclay Street.

Saturday is the big one with the famous Eden Whale Festival Street Parade at 10am. Follow the parade to the new festival site at the Eden Sportsground for a full program of entertainment, markets and food stalls.

Join in the fun with the Sapphire Coast Wilderness Oysters’ Great Oyster Shuck, the Capstan Pull or give the Freedom Charters’ Biggest Tosser a go. Also keep your eyes open for the Australian Kite Flying Society’s Kite display.

Take a tour of the giant 19 metre inflatable whale at Eden Marine High School and visit the Seafood Showcase. Be awed by Rob Bast champion chainsaw carver as he carves up a work of art and check out the heavy machine, bushfire and caravan/boats displays.

Stay the day and catch the evening headliners, the Figmentz and enjoy spectacular fireworks at 9pm.

Sunday is the day to discover Eden. Take a picnic on the Killer Whale Trail, jump on the shuttle bus or book for lunch at the Seahorse Inn. Don’t miss the hot rod Show and Shine at 9.30am.
