Troy Bunning and Josh Williams wowed crowds with some high-flying stunts on their custom-built BMX bikes, while seven-time Australian Trials champion Kristie McKinnon joined the pair on the Gas Gas stunt bike to show off her skills.
Officials said McKinnon was still a bit jet-lagged after competing in the Czech Republic just last week for Australia before competition at the Melbourne Royal Show.
“Yeah only got home on Wednesday, but I’m stoked to be here for the Pambula Motorfest,” she said during the show.
Starting with some of the smaller tricks like handlebar spins and motorbike wheelies, the trio built up to some spectacular stunts during their four shows on the day.
“The louder you get, the bigger the tricks get,” said the team’s announcer during the shows.
McKinnon showed off trial riding, launching the bike up enormous steps to a height of about three metres and popping wheelies with the front spokes missing altogether.
Meanwhile Williams and Bunning hit the ramp for three varied sets of tricks, building through some seat grabs and superman jumps to a climatic series of backflips.
Williams took it one step further, launching a flip off a tiny 45centimetre kicker ramp to wrap up the show to rapturous applause from the strong crowds.
The three stunt performers were to many the highlight of the Pambula Motorfest on Sunday.
However, motorsport fans did get an extra treat this year with two separate V8 Supercar simulators.
One featured a competitive head-to-head mode with a friend, while the second was immersive as the simulator was actually built into the shell of a Commodore.
Some of the quirkier inclusions on the day were the jet-powered go kart that produces around 400 horsepower of fuel burning turbine flame. Not to be outdone, there was also a 1000 horsepower plane engine from a 1990s crop duster and a supercharged tractor, which the emcee described as being so loud “you can feel your spine shaking”.
