Eden Marine High School recently celebrated their annual Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Day with the theme “Shine Bright, Be Your Best”.

The theme was celebrated by the many students who dressed up in a vast array of colourful, bright, shiny and fluoro outfits on display.
The day was jam-packed with activities, forums, sessions and other events designed to assist students achieve their full potential. Some of the more popular activities were Yoga, Personal Training, ‘Minute to Win it’ and Hip-Hop Dancing.
Year 8 and 9 girls also watched the topical and powerful Embrace documentary, which highlights the global body image epidemic.
Students were also lucky to have local general practitioner Jackie Brown volunteer to host a Q&A session covering all aspects of teenage health.
Lunchtime activities were highlighted by a pie throwing competition, with students revelling at the chance to plant a pie full of cream in some of their favourite teachers’ faces.
Year 11 student Sarah Lingard-Sinclair used the day to nobly and selflessly give to others, volunteering to shave her head for cancer research.
Throughout it all musical performances by the Year 12 HSC class, who were assisted by other talented student musicians, kept everyone entertained.
A joyous atmosphere was created with students contributing to the positive school spirit that was on display.
This year’s PBL day formed part of a wider wellbeing week which was run by the Student Representative Council. Each day emphasised a different health theme and provided students with an insight into a wide range of wellbeing issues and coping strategies, all in effort to promote active and engaged learning for students in a supportive school environment.
