A welcome to country by Uncle Aussie Cruse followed by a guest appearance of Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis lit up the faces of many.
Children flocked to meet Mr Georgiadis who features in ABC’s Get Grubby TV.
The Eden Community Pantry recieved an opening grant by the Reaching Out Foundation, helping to pick it up off its feet.
Reaching Out Foundation chairman Ross Williams presented $1,500 for the initial stock of the community pantry.
“It is absolutely fantastic when the heart of town can have a community pantry open to everyone and anyone not only to contribute but to participate and become members,” Mr Georgiadis said.
After a quick paparazzi session with Mr Georgiadis, everyone gathered for an educational talk on chicken health and some action at the newest wicking bed garden, learning about its construction methods and benefits.
