The school gathered outside in the sunshine to race their solar powered cars supplied by Origin Energy’s Origin Foundation in partnership with CSIRO.
Over 30 solar car kits, hydro kits and wind turbine kits were provided through the STEM program which was organised by Mark Bernhardt, health safety and environment manager of Origin Energy .
“I really encourage other schools to get involved in the CSIRO STEM program, organised funding supply solar car kits, hydro kits for kids to learn how hydro power works with water, as well as wind turbine kits,” he said.
Mr Bernhardt was overwhelmed by the school’s enthusiasm towards the STEM learning kits on display throughout the school hall.
“I am absolutely bursting with pride, all of the projects in the hall as well as the smiles on the kids faces with their solar powered cars – I am just ecstatic.
