The club, which will wrap up the winter season in the grand final this weekend, will launch the annual social competition late this month with nominations closing on September 15.
The club is encouraging both businesses or friends and families to turn their co-workers or mates into team-mates by entering together with up to 11 players allowed per team.
It’s an all inclusive format of the game with anyone over 12 welcome to play in a mixed structure where all teams must have at least two females on the field at all times.
One of the committee members, Shyanne Walker, said the club had about 15 teams compete last year with the season running over 15 weeks.
“We’re trying to get locals all involved in a friendly game with friends, family or making their co-workers team mates,” Ms Walker said.
“We see this as a perfect opportunity for people to bond with work mates or just hang out with friends and family.”
It’s a short version with two 20-minute halves and you don’t need footy boots to play, just runners.
Entry fee is $495 per team ($45 per player), which covers insurance, while the club hosts a barbecue after each round with all games to be held at the Eden Soccer Ground.
Rules and registrations can be found at Eden Gas & Gear, or email edensoccerclub@gmail.com or for inquiries you can contact Shyanne on 0459 478 866.
Everyone is welcome.
