Directed by Kerry Hynes, spies, murder, love, and other trademarks of Alfred Hitchcock come to life in the style of a 1940s live radio broadcast of the master of suspense’s earlier films.
With 'The Lodger', 'Sabotage' and 'The 39 Steps', Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry is a triple feature, complete with vintage commercials, that recreates a daring train chase, a serial killer’s ominous presence, and a devastating explosion, through the magic of live actors, sound effects and musical underscoring.
Audiences are encouraged to dress in 1940s style and become the ‘live studio audience’ for each performance, with a prize for the best dressed.
There are matinees at 2pm on Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 31. Evening shows are at 7.30pm on Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Friday 31 August and Saturday 1 September.
Tickets cost between $15 and $25.
