Inspired by tennis heroes Lleyton Hewitt and Roger Federer, Mr Patrick said there was always room for more champions.

“You never know we could have some undiscovered champs right here.

“I’d love to see kids back out on the courts again and taking advantage of the wonderful facilities we have available.”

Mr Patrick grew up playing with his local club in the Yarra Valley and began his coaching career at 16.

He previously coached at the Seville Tennis Club on the outskirts of Melbourne for seven years and has recently moved to the Bega Valley. He is a qualified level two professional tennis coach, with the necessary working with children check and level two first aid certificate.
