Gypsy Fire is a concert featuring Matthew Fagan on a unique 10 string Spanish guitar and guest singer Kellie Grace.
The duo will present a truly captivating show of fiery passionate, virtuosic performances of gypsy, gypsy jazz, flamenco, tango, bossa nova, celtic reels and jigs, classical music and more.
Donald Ashby of the Mallacoota Arts Council is looking forward to another of Fagan’s performances.
“He has played all over the world and is the most extraordinary performer,” Ashby said.
“Before I saw him live I listened to him on CD and it sounded like there were two guitars playing.”
Fagan performs regularly in major concert venues nationally and internationally and has performed in more than 120 countries worldwide as a soloist, with orchestra and bands including extensive touring across Europe, South America, Alaska, Canada, China, Japan and South East Asia.
Fagan has long been established as one of Australia’s finest exponents of the guitar. He has toured with Billy Connolly, The Buena Vista Social Club, Shirley Bassey, Natalie Cole and Michael Crawford.
His superb technical ability and emotionally fiery execution on a 10 string and other guitars combined with Grace’s warm vocals capture the spirit and emotion of the music.
It will be an unforgettable show that has been supported by Mallacoota and District Drama Arts Music. All profits go towards the school music program and community arts projects.
