Students split into groups to experience traditional Indigenous Australian activities as part of the program’s ninth successful year running.
“I give credit to the facility here, it is such a great centre for education.” Bournda EEC principal Doug Reckord said.
Over 450 students of schools across the region visited Jigamy Farm throughout the week.
Bournda Environmental Education Centre set up a Marine display, students went on an educational bush tucker walk, learnt about yams and johnny cakes.
Mussels were cooked over a neat smoking fire for students to taste after they tested their skills at spear and boomerang throwing.
A traditional dance of Aboriginal women was taught to the students, as well as story telling time with elders.
