The thriving little school will showcase its rich history through a day of fun activities and performances.
Over twelve months of preparation has gone into the day and the community is invited to come along to this special sesquicentennial celebration.
“There will be something for all ages, I encourage everyone to come along and check out the school,” acting principal Heather Bell said.
To entice the crowd, there will be a scone and damper competition and specially designed memorabilia tea towels and bottles of wine available to purchase.
As you enter the library you will be blasted with everything from the past. Ms Bell is excited for the big reveal of the historical display.
“There is a teacher who does beautiful historic style handwriting which will be up on the blackboard for display. The classrooms will be open also, contrasting the old with the new,” she said.
At 10am, the school gates will open after an official call from the town crier. The day will escalate in activities and performances scheduled into the afternoon.
After the time capsule is buried, at 2pm prepare for some action on the sports ground. Walk around with a sausage sizzle and coffee in hand whilst watching the wood chopping competition and cross-cut saw demonstration.
Vintage cars will be parked to impress as well as a jumping castle, market stalls and musical entertainment.
But, wait there is more…
The celebrations continue into the evening with a dinner and dance across the road at the Wyndham Hall.
Gary Carson Jones band, Mojo will light up the evening with music to get a groove on.
Valley Katering is providing a delicious three course buffet style seated dinner. Tickets are still available for purchase online at south coast tickets’ website or CLICK HERE.
