Sandra Symonds and Lynn Slater were announced as awardees, with Ms Symonds travelling to Bega to be presented with her certificate on Wednesday.
“It’s lovely to be recognised, I don’t expect to get any recognition,” she said.
“I think you get more out of [volunteering] than what you give.”
She organises the club’s open gardens weekend and is a charter member who was involved when the club was established 37 years ago.
“We work as a group, we look after each other and that’s just what we do,” Ms Symonds said.
Eden’s Marianne Kramp and Wendy Ramage were also announced as medallion recipients at the ceremony in the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre.
The medallion is presented for the outstanding work of volunteers across the shire. Recipients must have served the community for an extended period of time.
