The travelling players gave a workshop performance of Macbeth Rehearsal, giving students an insight into the varying ways of delivering lines and entry points into the play. It was also designed to show English students Shakespeare isn’t that scary and archaic, drama teacher Corrina Collins said.
She said 140 students across elective drama and Year 11 English took advantage of the free performance.
“It was good for them all to learn the process,” Ms Collins said. “The kids all loved it and we would welcome the company back anytime.”
Ms Collins said Eden Marine has an ongoing partnership with the Bell Shakespeare Company, with annual school visits, or trips to see them on stage in Sydney and Melbourne, all subsidised for students.
“We want to say thanks to them for everything they’ve done for us,” she said.
