As part of the CRL under 23s Country Championships, the defending Monaro outfit, which features three Group 16 players, will clash with the Dragons in a semi-final this weekend.
The two finals will include both the under 23s mens and league-tag competitions – where the Monaro league-tag contingent unfortunately missed out on a semi-final berth.
The squad – which included five players from Group 16, including Bega’s Jacinta Dummett and Ali Ringland – went down 40-6 against the Greater Western Tigers in their round two clash over the weekend.
Monaro progressed to the Semi-Finals after claiming an impressive 38-10 victory over Riverina in Wagga Wagga over the weekend.
The Colts included Bombala prop Luke Ingram, Merimbula-Pambula fullback Kyle Shepherdson and Narooma front rower Andrew Ayers.
Monaro are the defending Country Champions and will face off with the South Coast Dragons at Goulburn Workers Arena, the second semi will be held in Sawtell at Rex Hardaker Oval.
Representative coach Ryan Apps said that eight players had advanced to further opportunities following the win last year and wished the Colts luck ahead of this weekend’s clash.
Games from both the under 23s men’s and league-tag finals will all be live-streamed on the CRL website at www.crlnsw.com.au or on the CRL Facebook page.
