The first rugby league played at the Tathra ground in four years, the Sea Eagles were dominant early in a bruising encounter with the Moruya Sharks.
In howling winds on Saturday afternoon, the hosts contained the Sharks in the first half and holding on to secure a 28-14 win.
The Sea Eagles set up some great early runs with Jessie Hoyland Meaker building some good metres on the left edge alongside Leigh Radford working up the middle.
Meanwhile, coach Clay Child directed play through the middle.
Scott Orr provided impact on the right edge and some clever plays ensured the Sea Eagles were pressuring the attack more often than defending early in the piece.
Dylan Child scored his maiden senior try with a great scoot out of the left edge to beat three defenders and land the ball over the line mid-tackle.
His efforts were followed up soon after as hooker James McMillan found the line just right of the posts.
A third try and excellent conversions despite the gusting winds by Clay Child gave the hosts an 18-0 advantage at the break.
With the wind against them in the second half, the Eagles faced a lot more defensive pressure from the visiting Sharks, but kept up good attacking raids.
Sharks winger Tim Knight got the visitors back in the contest early in the second half.
The Sharks would go on to score two more tries, but dithering conversion attempts kept the hosts on target.
